When I first moved to NY 14 years ago to study at Parsons, I was living in the East Village. Even though I've also since lived in Midtown and the UES, I noticed that much of my life happened Downtown. I work in editorial, mostly covering menswear, lifestyle and food. When I had the opportunity to move back, Redeemer starting a Downtown congregation was certainly a factor in that decision making process.  I'm hoping Redeemer Downtown will be a beautifully diverse congregation that reflects the people and personalities of all the various neighborhoods. I'm excited to be serving with the Community Group team to foster a community that enjoys God and is committed to the peace and prosperity of the city as in Jeremiah 29:7. Random facts about me: I really enjoy ice cream & Instagram (@hungryeditor).

Dear ,

Over the past couple of weeks, we've announced at all of our Sunday services that we've secured a location for Sunday worship Downtown! Beginning on October 21st, we'll be having 9:30AM and 5:00PM worship services at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street). Between launch meetings and commissioning services for those who will be part of the new congregation, our community is taking shape very quickly! Because October 21st will be such a unique event, it will be a great day for people to invite friends who have questions about Christianity and so, we'd encourage you to do so.

One very important piece of information is that Metropolitan Pavilion has multiple large meeting venues within their facility, which we will be using for worship services. The specific venue that will hold our services will change from time to time, though they will always be within the Metropolitan Pavilion. Children's Ministry will always be in the same venue, even if our worship service may move within the building. Thank you for your patience as we adjust to the rotation and seek to finalize a long-term venue within the building. We will have signs and greeters each week to direct you, but the best way to receive information is through this bi-weekly update or our website -

We are absolutely thrilled to be able to begin worship services this month and look forward to seeing you there!

In Christ,

John Lin

Go Team HFNY!
Thanks to all the Downtowners who participated (and supported riders) in Hope for New York's Charity Bike Ride on Sept. 22! The 66 members of Team HFNY cycled anywhere from 25 to 100 miles in the Escape New York ride to raise awareness and money for the poor and marginalized! The riders collectively raised over $50,000 to support Hope for New York's work. For more pics, check out our Facebook page, or find out more about supporting Hope for New York.
