"I live, sail, co-lead a community group and practice law in Lower Manhattan. For the past few years I’ve also been a part of a mentoring program for students in the Bronx through Hope for New York. Partnering with our mentees, in good times and in trials, has been one of the most powerful ways I've seen God at work in the city and in my life. Serving has been a big part of how my faith has grown since I moved to New York in 2007. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the ways our downtown congregation will build community and serve the people of this city in the years ahead!"
Happy start of summer!
As you know, we are currently in the midst of the Downtown Challenge and very exciting times in the formation of our congregation. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming and we're hearing stories of community groups that have taken significant ownership of the Downtown Challenge. Some groups are hosting their own "giving parties" while others are establishing their own group goals for participation.
One way to get involved, in addition to giving, is to sponsor your own Downtown Challenge "giving party." If you or others in your community group were planning to give, you might as well do it among friends! We already have some fun ones lined up and would love for you to host one too. For more information, or guidance on how to set one up, please email Mai.
Have a fantastic start to a new summer!
Downtown Congregation Lead Pastor
First Sunday after Pentecost: Trinity Sunday - June 3
"Psalm 8 is a reminder of the uncontested majesty and greatness of God in dramatic contrast with the frailty of man. The heavens are God’s handiwork, yet He is a God who hears and is attentive to the lowliest of men. The psalm speaks of God’s glory and grace and our fitting response in celebration and awe..."

Adam Thiesen and Webb Younce Installed as Officers!
Congratulations to Adam and Webb Younce who were installed as officers of Redeemer on May 20 to serve the Downtown congregation. Adam is a newly minted deacon. Webb has been a ruling elder in the PCA for several years and is now rejoining the Redeemer session (board of elders). It's a great joy to have both of them serving in our midst. Please pray for them, that their service would be a joy to them and to the Downtown congregation.
Assistant Pastor Jeff White to be Installed on June 18th!
Jeff White will be officially installed as an assistant pastor for the Downtown Congregation on June 18, at our Redeemer-wide leader gathering. This will be a great time for us to acknowledge Jeff and Rebecca White and to formally welcome Jeff as a minister serving in our midst. Jeff has already done so much for our Downtown community and it's our hope that in coming years, God will continue to work through Jeff in remarkable ways.
