Dear ,
Where do you feel at home? I recently found home in an unexpected place.

One afternoon I jumped in the pool and began to swim laps. As my arms stretched out and the water rushed by, I thought, “This feels so good. I am myself when I swim.” I realized that I was feeling “at home” in the water. Home to me is a place where you are safe to be yourself and the best in you is brought to the surface.

God gave us a longing for home. Jesus connects to this longing when he said in John 14:3, “I go and prepare a place for you…that where I am, there you may be also.” In heaven, there will be no hunger, thirst or tears for we will be with Christ.

We taste a bit of heavenly home on earth, when we experience the presence and power of Christ in community. Through my Community Groups at Redeemer, God has provided honest, Christ-centered and transformational relationships. I pray that if you long for a place to be known, to grow and to impact those around you, you will find your home in community.

In Christ,

Lyn Cook
Community Group Director
