Bill Gough

Bill and his wife Joanne have regularly attended Redeemer since July, 2000.  In 2004 he became an elder.

Bill and Joanne met at a Christian College (he a chemistry major; she a nursing major). A week after their wedding Bill began work on his PhD (Physiology, Univ of Penn). Joanne has been a public health and geriatric nurse. Bill did academic Cardiology research and pharmaceutical research for almost 25 years. Currently he is a medical writer. They have 2 sons (chemist, youth ministry) and a daughter (nurse). They thoroughly enjoy grandson Timmy (son of Redeemer’s Jonathan & Susana Gough).
Dear ,
When I was growing up, Sunday dinners were among the most memorable times of my life.  With six children in the family, that meant a lot of mouths to feed. But, it also meant a lot of hands to help. And each week Dad would invite someone, usually a visitor to our church, to eat with us.

As my siblings and I grew up, I noticed that we became more eager to help with those dinners.  The preparation was not for the purpose of making a good impression (although that may have happened), or making the house more pleasant for ourselves (although that may have happened), but of making our guests feel honored, welcomed and wanted.

This is very much the attitude we strive to emulate in our Sunday Service Ministries.  We want everyone who comes to the East Side to feel welcome. Of course, we are much more effective when our church family participates with us. There are countless ways to take part: spend a little extra time to get to know that new person sitting next to you; take the initiative during Coffee Hour to introduce yourself to someone you’ve never met; or join one of our Sunday Service Ministries areas.

We hope you will join us in making all of our guests feel welcomed and honored.  You can view current opportunities and sign up here.

How did Redeemer grow from one congregation to three? At least part of the answer lies in the fact that there have been so many attendees willing to serve the church and help it grow. With the excitement of preparing for the Downtown congregation launch, our need for volunteers at our East Side AM and PM services has grown. We are looking for people with servant-hearts who are willing to participate once a month on our ministry teams. Choose Welcome Center, Ushering, Info Center or Book Table here.

See our website for further needs listed on our Service Opportunities page.

Congratulations to our newest East Side members who joined the church today!

Thanks to our amazing VBS volunteers!
Last week, more than 200 Redeemer kids and their friends came out to learn about the gospel and what it means to trust God. We send our huge thanks to the flight crew of more than 100 amazing volunteers, along with Children's Ministry staff and staff across Redeemer who shared their passion, vision, time and talents to make this a very special week.
