Pascal Plant

Meet Pascal, he is 3. As a life-long Downtown resident he has always wanted to worship in his 'hood. With his free time, Pascal loves "Seal Park" on 22nd and 10th, the Highnine (the High Line) and eating at the Chelsea Square Diner. When at church, Pascal enjoys fellowship equally with classmates and dinosaurs. Ask him what he likes about God? "His "GloRRRy! Hooray!"

The Downtown Challenge has begun!

Dear ,

This past weekend we launched a Redeemer-wide initiative to help bring the Downtown Congregation to life this fall!

In response to overwhelming interest in the Downtown Congregation, a $1 million matching gift was offered from two anonymous donors to launch the congregation in Downtown.  The matching gift will allow us to find a Downtown worship location sooner than originally anticipated so that we can have a morning worship service as early as October. It is both a confirmation of God's leading and a challenge to us to respond.

As of today, we have over 200 people who have given to the Downtown Challenge! We want to thank those who have and if you haven't, we ask that you consider making a financial gift to the Downtown Challenge.

$1 million seems like a lot and yet if we receive 1000 gifts that averaged $1000 each, we'll meet our goal and if more than 1000 people give gifts of varying sizes, we'll surpass our goal! There's been a lot of positive momentum for this challenge already, but there is still a long way to go!

The giving period is only until June 17th! Check out You'll be able to give, read more and see a video about the Downtown Challenge.

In Christ,

John Lin
Downtown Congregation Lead Pastor

Sunday After Ascension Day
Ascension Day - which is today, May 17th - is observed as the 40th day after Easter. It commemorates Jesus Christ's ascension into heaven in the Christian Calendar. These devotionals are to help you prepare for each Sunday to come in the Christian Calendar. This week's devotional is written by John Lin.

"Psalm 97 is a forceful song in celebration of the Lord’s arrival as our reigning king. Using imagery -- cloud and darkness, lightning and earthquakes, fire on a mountaintop -- reminiscent of God’s inhabiting of Mount Sinai, the psalmist speaks of creation’s response to the presence of the King. Idolaters turn away, people see his glory, and the holy city (Zion) rejoices and is glad..."
